A Rather Large MAC Cosmetics Haul

I wanted to take it back to a classic and behold, I bring to you a MAC haul. I needed to purchase a new Studio Fix Concealer as my current one had been annihilated (I love it that much). Well, one thing lead to another and I left with more than I needed.

Nonetheless, here are my recent purchases from MAC.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Sun Power

I purchased MAC’S Give Me Sun a couple of months ago and fell in love. I adore the formula for the range and thought why not pick up another option? Honestly, that is exactly what I thought.

If Give Me Sun is too light for you or does not give you the warmth you want, then Sun Power will. It is slightly warmer and richer in tone and will show beautifully on medium-tan skin tones.

MAC Pro Longwear Powder (Pressed) and MAC Select Sheer Powder (Pressed)

My beloved Studio Fix Powder finally came to the end of its life and instead of doing the smart thing of making a repurchase, considering how much I love it. I thought it would be financially smarter to make two purchases for powders I had never tried before and see how I get on with them.

As much as I do love Studio Fix, I have recently been opting for lighter coverage (I know, it’s completely out of character). If you’ve read my blog for quite some time, or even any of my foundation reviews you will have noticed that I do like medium to full coverage foundations. In my mind, I have convinced myself that my skin is absolutely terrible and I need to hide everything. However, upon a recent visit to a makeup counter as the artist removed my makeup she was shocked to see my skin underneath. Her first reaction was “oh, your skin is so beautiful, why have you covered it so much?!”. At that moment I looked at her like she was talking crazy and wondered if it was me she was looking at. But, then it hit me, this is not the first time I have heard this. As a Pakistani woman, I have a lot of “auntie’s” (you know, that woman your Mum knows and suddenly you make her a member of your family), all who have seen me at home wearing no makeup and then when I am all glam. They all mention that I don’t need to wear so much foundation, that I look so much more youthful without it. Other than unexpected visits to your home at inconvenient times, you can also always count on the “auntie’s” to be brutally honest about appearances, even if it’s not very nice.

The artist at the counter applied a light coverage foundation on me and told me to go look at my skin in the mirror. I was gobsmacked, my skin looked so fresh and natural. I guess, the point of my very long story is that we so often see ourselves as terrible, but sometimes I urge you all to take a step back and just admire your bare skin. Regardless of any skin concerns you have, it’s you. Please do not hate you or put yourself down, for you are more than just skin. Plus, a good woman always told me (that good woman being my Mother) that a good soul always adds radiance to your skin.

This is becoming a very deep haul post, but I hope the above makes it clear why I purchased two powders that provide lighter coverage.

MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder

I have a big selection of transparent setting powders so why not add one from MAC too? I mean, it would be rude not to. I have not read any reviews in regards to this powder as of yet, but regardless I do have high hopes as the pressed version is an old favourite.

MAC Sheertone Blush in Breath of Plum

Slowly but surely I am building up my MAC blush collection and the reason behind it all is that I absolutely love the formula. When I saw Breath of Plum it looked like Autumn in a pan. If you haven’t yet swatched this at your local counter, I really recommend you do as it is the perfect Autumn blush that will flatter a variety of skin tones.

MAC Studio Fix Concealer

The reason this haul exists, I needed to repurchase my Studio Fix Concealer, so not only did I make a repurchase I also purchased another shade. I love the formula for the Studio Fix Concealers, they are so creamy and blend effortlessly.

MAC Upward Lash Mascara

I’ve never tried a mascara from MAC so I thought why not give one a try, especially since I’ve tried so much from the brand but never a mascara. I choose the Upward Lash Mascara, the one that has packaging like the lipsticks only longer, much longer. This is a product I will definitely follow up on.

Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream

The final product in my haul is something from MAC’s skincare line. I’ve recently begun to take my eye-creams really seriously and thought why not give one of MAC’s a go, I mean, I had done enough damage already. I have tried a few other products from MAC’s skincare range and to be honest, they were not disappointing so I am looking forward to giving this a try.

That wraps up this haul. What product would you most like to try? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Thank you for reading, I’m signing out until my next post.
