It has been a couple of months since I shared with you my Marc Jacobs haul, and slowly but surely I am working my way through the products to present to you my thoughts. Today, I share with you my thoughts on the Remedy Concealer Pen which was one of the products I had been most excited to try since purchasing.
Marc Jacob’s Remedy Concealer Pen is claimed to be one of Marc’s favourite products he has created. The formula has a range of hydrating and anti-aging ingredients and claims to hydrate, soothe, provide coverage and brighten the under-eye area. Taking into consideration the claims, I expected this formula to work well, especially for those with dry skin under the eyes. Furthermore the patented palladium applicator is very unique as it cools the area whilst you apply the product.
Now to answer the most important question, does this £25.00 product actually work? As I tested the product, I did want to compare it to the worldwide cult favourite by YSL Beauty – the Touche Éclat, especially as they both cost £25.00.
In all honesty, I prefer this formula to YSL’s Touche Éclat. Both products cost the same, but Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen just does that much more. Firstly, the applicator used is fantastic, especially to help awaken dull tired eyes. As it touches the skin it provides a cooling sensation that just feels wonderful. It also helps distribute product nicely allowing you to apply the desired amount smoothly and efficiently.
The formula does live up to its claims, I had my reservations and negative assumptions but despite the thin consistency, the formula does provide coverage to help combat dark circles whilst also instantly brightening the under eye area. The skin under my eyes is very dehydrated so I always like a formula that does add moisture and does not enhance any dryness.
Overall, I am very impressed with what Marc Jacobs Beauty have created, and can foresee myself repurchasing this once it runs out. I definitely would not repurchase the YSL’s Touche Éclat as I find this formula to be far better and ideal for my personal needs. Although the Touche Éclat is not necessarily a concealer, the Remedy Pen provides a very similar brightening effect.
If you are after a quick all-in-one product that not only helps combat dark circles but also brightens the under eye – I would definitely recommend trying this out. The shade range is also impressive so you are bound to find something for your skin tone.
