Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Yesterday I introduced to you my current favourite affordable liquid lipstick formula and today I bring to you the foundation that has made me move on from NARS Sheer Glow. Words I never thought I would type. Of course, you already are aware of what the product is due to the title, so without further ado let me dive into why I love this foundation so much.

As much as I do like Too Faced as a brand, I am probably one of the rare people who do not particular like the packaging of the majority of their products. Sometimes it’s just a tad too much and I feel we hit tacky territory. However, the packaging for their Born This Way Foundation is one I can get on board with.

When the foundation initially launched, a lot of the beauty bloggers from overseas were recommending it non-stop. At that point, Too Faced was not so easily available in the UK. Fortunately, now we can order from Debenhams which is when I decided I would finally give it a try.

I purchased the shade Sand (I am Barcelona in NARS Sheer Glow and NC40/42 MAC), and found the foundation to be a perfect match. In fact, never in my life has a foundation matched my skin so perfectly and effortlessly. Furthermore this is one of the very few foundations that has not oxidized on me, which in itself is rather magical.

The formula is oil-free and Too Faced have used Coconut Water to replace any oils that they would have otherwise used. Additionally, they also have Alpine Rose which helps brighten the skin and one of my favourite ingredients – Hyaluronic Acid. Evidently, there’s some excellent skincare ingredients in the mix which are beneficial. Also, the use of Coconut Water and Hyaluronic Acid make this the perfect combination for dry skin.

When I first applied the formula I was blown away over how beautifully and effortlessly it applied onto the skin, leaving my skin with a healthy glow whilst also providing me coverage. The formula will certainly give you medium coverage, however you can add more to achieve fuller coverage without your skin looking like you have caked foundation onto it.

I have used the formula with brushes and my Beauty Blender and whilst both tools help blend the formula amazingly well, I do prefer the finish with the Beauty Blender slightly more.

Although I certainly was impressed with how the foundation applied, I was even more impressed with how the foundation lasted throughout my 8+ hour working day. Without the use of any primer or setting powder this formula has lasted extremely well on my skin, by the end of the working day my skin still looked decent and presentable with no need to touch up.

Since using this foundation, I have had trouble getting myself to use anything else on my skin I just love the way it looks that much. In fact I am soon going to opening my second bottle. Other than my NARS Sheer Glow, I have never re-purchased a foundation, but this certainly will be one I always ensure I have available to me.

If you have been wanting to try Too Faced’s Born This Way Foundation – take the plunge and make the purchase, you will not regret it.
